Does RICH automatically mean POWER?

Yes, it does. Should it? Not in my book.

Yes. Yes it does!

I wondered what you might mean. Certainly it's easy to see how influential money can be. How some that have it can use it to advertise, brain wash, bribe, or otherwise sway opinions in whatever direction they wish. Some have good direction, others don't. I don't think that all people with money use it to build on their power though.

When I first started thinking about your question, I didn't want to think that one automatically led to the other. It seemed wrong at first. But as I thought it through, it rang true.

I don't have a lot of money. But my life is plenty rich. I am blessed with the love of my family and my friends. I live in God's country, where I can watch the sun set over the lake any time I please or take a ride through beautiful country roads and mountains. I am healthy and still young (well that part is debatable, but at least at heart I am). And if that weren't enough, I have a dog that sleeps on my feet at night.

What makes my life rich has nothing to do with money. It didn't buy me love. It didn't buy the sunsets or the pretty country scenes. It didn't buy my health or my age and it didn't even buy my dog.

I'm not very powerful either, at least not in a worldly sense. But the power that I do have, including the strength and energy and authority in me, is all given to me by the riches in my life. While that may not be enough power to run a country, I sure feel on top of the world a lot of the time.

Without a doubt, I am inspired by, driven by, and powered by the riches ... all those treasures in my life.
